Businessman says all the accusations made by PAICV in relation to his company are false
Businessman Ideal Louro today expressed his discontent with the accusations made by the Regional Political Commission (CPR) of the Cape Verde African Independence Party (PAICV), in Brava, of benefiting from public money and refutes the accusations.
In an interview with Inforpress, Ideal Louro, owner of the company “Ideal construções”, said that he was “quite sad” with the accusations made by the president of the PAICV Regional Political Commission, Carlinhos Martins, from which, together with the president of the city council, they had benefited of public money.
The accusations were made by the PAICV Regional Political Commission in a press release sent to Inforpress, dated January 18th.
“The mayor and his compadre, owner of the civil construction company 'Ideal Construções', benefited from public money, to whom he paid the total amount lent, as already mentioned, almost 13 million escudos, this, without ever having held any competition and never having provided any deposit as required by law”, highlighted the PAICV CPR at the time.
According to this businessman, the accusations are “false”, taking into account that he is not included in any party list and the municipal works that the company has carried out were “all won through competitions held by the city council”.
“I am a young man who has always fought and still fights to be better in life and I currently provide employment for several people in the municipality, at the moment I have 97 permanent workers and more than 30 who provide services to my company”, he highlighted.
The businessman also said that his construction company is the only one on the island that has licenses one and two, and is qualified for major works on Brava Island.
He reiterated his sadness that the PAICV Regional Political Commission spoke “badly” and had “hatred of a young entrepreneur from Brava who employs many people and helps in the development of the island”.
Ideal Louro also said that his company has already trained many bricklayers and cobblers, labor that they did not have in Brava, and that raising “slander” against him is going against all the young people who work in his company, taking into account that Many people earn their living by working at the company Ideal Construções.
As he argued, the city council never assigned any work to his company without a contract, because, he guaranteed, all the works carried out were won through competitions and have contracts.
“I don't know why, but PAICV prefers that other companies that are not from the island win works from the city council than my firm, which is from here and employs many people from Brava. However, I have evidence and will prove that all the works awarded by the municipality were legally won in competitions and have contracts”, he stated.
The businessman ended by insisting that Carlinhos Martins should apologize to all the young people who work with him, taking into account that he is putting the livelihood of many family members at risk.
